Weekend Reading from Value Investing News

With income taxes due earlier this week and the tragedy at Virginia Tech, activity at Value Investing News was a bit slow. However, an exciting new feature has been added during this lull.

You can now browse the latest annual report filings(10-K, 10KSB and 20-F) submitted to the SEC. In addition to having a direct link to the filing, you can also click on the company name to get all the recent filings for that company. We are also testing links to current stock quotes and Value Investing News story links for each of the companies reporting annual reports. I hope you find this new feature as exciting as I am. Warren Buffett is a voracious reader of annual reports and I’m hoping this feature will help us all be a bit more like him by making it easier to read more annual reports as part of our daily investment routine.

Now for this week’s top stories at Value Investing News:

  1. Mauboussin on Strategy: Size Matters
This was a fascinating article on the Kelly Formula. Be sure to also read the interesting comments VIN members have submitted as well.
  2. Egg Caves
  3. Microsoft Comments on Medis
  4. Is There Still Value in Subprimes?
  5. Warren Buffett Responds to Shai Dardashti’s Question
I consider this the most significant piece of value investing news of the week, but I might be a bit biased since I broke this news item.

Have a great weekend!
