Firstrade Triple Sign-up Bonus
Looking for a new broker for the new year? Firstrade, the official broker of Fat Pitch Financials, might have the deal for you. They are currently running a triple sign-up bonus. Here’s what they are offering:
- 100 Free Trades with funding of $2,000 or more
- $100 Transfer Rebate with funding of $25,000 or more
- $100 Cash Back with funding of more than $50,000
Plus, you’ll get five additional free trades if I send you a referral. All I need from you is your name and email address. You can send that info to me using my contact form. In return, I’ll get $50 for referring you and you’ll get my thanks plus the referral email from Firstrade. This deal is running until March 31, 2009.
I’ve been using Firstrade since before Fat Pitch Financials even started and I’ve been pretty happy with their service. Their commissions are very low and they’ve done a great job handling all the weird special situation requests I send to them. They are also one of the few brokers that don’t charge annual fees for Coverdell Educational Savings Accounts or Roth IRAs and that is why I selected them for the Special Situations Real Money Portfolio (my son’s Coverdell ESA) when I started it in 2004. I think they are a good choice, especially for investors just starting out with small accounts.
already have the account-is there any promo for adding new money to an existing account?
Not that I know of, but it might be worth calling them to see if they will extend you an offer.
I may have to try this out. I had never heard of Firsttrade before reading this post.
Does Firstrade allow you to short shares for BBI (blockbuster) or LEN (Lennar)? I have a small personal account in e-trade but it wont allow me to short due to lack of borrowed shares so I am looking for a broker who will…thx.
@Mark Send me your full name and I’ll send you a referral.
@Robin I can’t short stocks trading under $5 like BBI with Firstrade. However, LEN looks like it is shortable in my account.
firstrade is the worst broker I ever tried.
firstrade cannot even figure out your account buying power correctly sometimes.
firstrade is very slow when stock trading volume becomes large, even worse, their severs break down when volume is large.
firstrade trading flatform is very poor.
firstrade is not cheap in terms of commission. thinkorswim’s commission is cheaper.
firstrade does not provide extended hour trading which is important in some cases.
firstrade charges people $50 per account to leave.
I am leaving firstrde now. I regret I opened account with firstrade.
