Intrinsic Value Estimator and Calculator - new freeware from Acalmix Publishing.

Intrinsic Value Estimator and Calculator ( freeware tool for Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7 ). This free software is sponsored by Acalmix Publishing and is released as a promotional tool to accompany the book "The Four Filters Invention of Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger."

Understanding the Business, Sustainable Competitive Advantage, and Able Trustworthy Managers, are probably more important in the valuation of a business. Many people rush to the stated earnings numbers without looking at the "free cash flow" available. This Intrinsic Value Estimator uses the estimated Free Cash Flow in a 2-stage Discounted Cash Flow Model ( years 10 and 15 ), to arrive at an estimate of Intrinsic Value. It also generates an estimated yield on holding a quality bargain purchase for 10 years.

George,

Why don't we hold a contest for "secondary editors" for my new book on your websites? As you know, I am polishing up the final draft. And, like any author who wishes to produce something of enduring quality, I want my book to stand the test of time like the Intelligent Investor.

So, I am considering the added critique and final editing of each of my filter chapters by volunteer "secondary editors." The final 4 candidates can submit a brief summary of their writing, blogging, or investing credentials to you here, or me at budlabitan@aol.com, and we could pick 2-4 to help put the final "polish" on each of the four filter chapters.

Then, when the book is published, I would list each of the co-editors and which chapter they contributed editing to. I would also include a brief entry about their work, passion, or area of expertise.

Since, I want to keep this book small, and a quick but valuable reading experience; I prefer writers/volunteers who can express clear ideas with a minimum amount of words.

What does a volunteer get out of it? A chance to be part of an enduring book like Ben GRaham's Intelligent Investor.
Something to tell your Grandkids about.

Hi Bud,
Thanks for sharing the audio file and the abridged pdf of your book. I enjoyed the pdf on my commute home from work.

I noticed one thing you might want to fix. The table on page 8 has some formatting issues. The TTM FCF/net income ratios look off as well. It's probably a decimal place issue. When I get some more time and sleep, I'll try to provide you with more substantive feedback.

I almost forgot. Here is an old audio clip I found on the web a few years back; and, I trimmed it down to 30 seconds of only "the four filters."

Thanks for your interest. I just finished the book's footnotes and endnotes today. Some minor tweaking and proofing is ongoing. The main area I would like to do a final tweak on is "the history of using investment checklists." So, feel free to send in comments to me or this website.

The Wiley company is still considering my book for their lineup, and I am weighing different publishing options.

I will keep George updated on it's publication schedule and availability.

The book is not available yet. Bud is shopping for a publisher. Hopefully a publisher will share your interest in his book.
