Each of those $1,900 payments came from the $0.38 quarterly dividends issued by Merck. I used Excel’s XIRR function to determine that my annualized rate of return on my Merck position was a solid 21.2%. I’m very happy with that return and look forward to finding another fat pitch opportunity to replace Merck in my portfolio. Any ideas?
