Wall Street Journal Special Offer

Friday, June 1st, 2007 | Financial News with 1 Comment

The Wall Street Journal just announced a new special offer. You can get a 1-year subscription to both the online and paper editions of The Wall Street Journal plus an additional 8 weeks free for just $125. This is a savings of over 70%. I think I’m going to jump on this offer.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. (NWSAF.PK)  made a proposed buyout offer for the publisher of the Wall Street Journal last month and he has now made a $5 billion bid for the company. The Bancrofts, who control 65% of Dow Jones & Co. (DJ), may be trying to improve Wall Street Journal subscriber numbers ahead of other potential bids. I won’t be surprised if other potential buyers turn up as any buyout deal gets negotiated.

Full Disclosure: I do not own shares in any of the companies mentioned in this article.
