I saw the Charlie Rose three-part series on Buffett -- was generally excellent. But, no, Buffett's comments on GM didn't disturb me. It would have been something if he dogged the company, but didn't at all. I obviously admire him greatly, but I bought and made good money by buying Japanese property & casaulty insurance stocks in the 1990s. He and Munger were asked about these stocks and didn't care for them. So I will at times go against the Master, so to speak.

Actually, because of size, Buffett plays a different game than a lot of value players. Rose was good at getting him to point out that he's looking for "elephants."

Thanks for the notes. I actually own some GM, and after hearing Buffett's comments on the stock it actually gave me more confidence in the investment. No one can understand 100% of any investment, in or out of your circle of competence. And like he said in the interview: the WHOLE General Motors company selling for $15 billion?
