30 Days to Becoming a Better Investor – Day 19

I have a short, but very insightful article from Arpit Ranka tonight. Arpit’s “Ruminations Over Ten-Baggers ” discusses the lesson he learned concerning the role of envy in investing.

I always find it informative to read about the lessons that other investors have learned from their experiences. “There is always somebody who will do things better than you,” according to Charlie Munger. Instead of being envious of others, learn from them I say. That is one of the reasons I decided to host the 30 Days to Becoming a Better Investor community event.

It’s not too late to contribute to the 30 Days to Becoming a Better Investor community project. I’ll make sure that I fit in all the submissions before the 30 days are up.

  • Envy is another emotion, along with greed and fear. Slow and steady wins the race. For every gunslinger who nails a 10-bagger, I’d like to know how many that gunslinger missed!
